Raiders Tried Out Veteran RB C.J. Anderson

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Raiders brought in free agent RB C.J. Anderson for a tryout on Monday.

The Raiders are clearly looking for some running back help, as they also worked out LeGarrette Blount and Bo Scarbrough last week.

Since becoming a free agent, Anderson has worked out for the Texans and Giants.

Anderson, 28, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Cal back in 2013. He signed a four-year, $18 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed with the Dolphins as a restricted free agent during the 2016 offseason but the Broncos matched the deal.

The Broncos elected to release Anderson last offseason and he eventually agreed to a one-year contract with the Panthers. After a brief stint with the Raiders, Anderson signed on with the Rams in December.

From there, Anderson agreed to a one-year deal with the Lions this past April but was released a few weeks ago.

In 2018, Anderson appeared in 11 games and rushed for 403 yards on 67 carries (6 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 41 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
