Rams Waive OLB Carlos Thompson From IR, Sign Two To PS

The Los Angeles Rams announced Tuesday that they’ve waived OLB Carlos Thompson from injured reserve, signed DE Ja’Von Rolland-Jones and DB Linden Stephens to their practice squad and released DE Marcus Martin from the unit.

The Rams’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. TE Henry Krieger-Coble
  2. WR Steven Mitchell
  3. DB Steven Parker
  4. DB Ramon Richards
  5. OL Evan Boehm
  6. C Aaron Neary
  7. OT Darrell Williams
  8. QB Brandon Allen
  9. DE Ja’Von Rolland-Jones
  10. DB Linden Stephens

Thompson, 26, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in May of 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season but spent most of the year on the team’s injured reserve list.

The Texans elected to cut Thompson loose coming out of the preseason and he, unfortunately, sat out the 2016 season. The Rams signed him to a contract last year and he was on and off of their roster during the 2017 season.

Los Angeles waived Thompson with an injury designation back in May and later reverted to the team’s injured reserve list.

In 2017, Thompson appeared in three games and recorded five tackles for the Rams.
