Ravens Activate CB Jimmy Smith, Waive DB Darious Williams

The Baltimore Ravens officially activated CB Jimmy Smith to the active roster after serving his four-game suspension and waived DB Darious Williams in a corresponding roster move.

Smith, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He’s currently in the third year of his five-year, $54.89 million contract that includes $21 million guaranteed and is set to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2018 season.

Smith served a four-game suspension last year before being placed on injured reserve with an Achilles tear. He was suspended, once again, in August for violating the league’s violating personal conduct policy.

In 2017, Smith appeared in 12 games and recorded 28 tackles, three interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 12 cornerback out of 114 qualifying players at the time he was placed on injured reserve.
