Ravens Place CB Al-Hajj Shabazz On Injured Reserve

The Baltimore Ravens officially placed CB Al-Hajj Shabazz on injured reserve after passing through waivers unclaimed on Tuesday.

Shabazz, 24, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of West Chester in July of last year but was waived as the team trimmed their roster down to 75 players.

The Steelers signed him to a future/reserve contract in February of last year but was waived as the team got down to the 53-man limit. He was on and off of the Steelers’ active roster for much of the season, but had a brief stint with the Texans before returning to Pittsburgh last December.

Shabazz was waived shortly after this year’s draft before signing on with the Ravens in June. Unfortunately, he was waived on Monday with an injury designation.

In 2016, Shabazz appeared in eight games and recorded just one tackle.
