Ravens Place DL Chris Canty On Season-Ending I.R. & Cut RB Raheem Mostert

Update:

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they’ve placed DL Chris Canty on season-ending injured reserve with a torn pectoral.

  • Ravens waived RB Raheem Mostert.
  • Ravens promoted RB Terrence Magee and CB Jumal Rolle to their active roster.

Mostert, 23, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May. However, he was unfortunately among the Eagles’ final roster cuts.

Philadelphia later added Mostert to their practice squad before the Dolphins signed him to their active roster a few weeks into the regular season.

The Ravens later claimed Mostert off of waivers from the Dolphins

This season, Mostert has been active for eight game and totaled 221 kick return yards.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh announced Monday that veteran DL Chris Canty will be placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn pectoral.

This move will create a roster spot for QB Ryan Mallett, who is reportedly signing a contract with the Ravens.

Canty, 33, signed a two-year, $4.65 million contract that included a $1.5 million signing bonus with the Ravens back in March. He’ll make a base salary of $1 million this season and another $2 million in 2016.

His 2015 season comes to an end with him appearing in nine games and recording 19 tackles, one sack, and a pass defense for the Ravens. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 26 defensive end out of 58 qualifying players.
