Ravens Rework C Jeremy Zuttah’s Deal, Free Up $1.22M In Cap Space

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Baltimore Ravens have restructured the contract of C Jeremy Zuttah in recent days.

According to Yates, the Ravens converted $1,628,824 of Zuttah’s remaining 2015 base salary into a signing bonus, which freed up $1,221,618 in available cap space.

The Ravens are reportedly signing CB Shareece Wright to a contract after they lost Will Davis for the season, so this could be why they needed to rework Zuttah’s contract.

Zuttah, 29, signed a five-year, $18 million contract that included $6.5 million guaranteed with the Ravens back in March. He was set to make a base salary of $3 million for the 2015 season.

The Ravens acquired Zuttah in a trade with the Buccaneers that sent a 2015 fifth-round pick to Tampa Bay that ultimately became WR Kenny Bell.

This season, Zuttah has appeared in five games and rates as the No. 17 center out of 34 qualifying players.
