Ravens Sign P Sam Koch To A Five-Year, $18.5M Extension

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they’ve have reached an agreement with P Sam Koch on a new five-year contract extension Thursday.

  • Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the deal is a five-year, $18.5 million extension.
  • Wilson adds that Koch’s new contract includes a $4 million signing bonus, $16.25 million in new money and $7.3 million guaranteed.

Koch, 32, was entering the final year of his five-year, $12.5 million contract was set to make a base salary of $2.5 million for the 2015 season.

The Ravens used a sixth-round pick on Koch back in 2006 and he has played his entire nine-year career in Baltimore.

In 2014, Koch led the NFL in net punting at 43.3 per attempt and had 26 punts downed inside the 20-yard line. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 16 punter out of 37 qualifying player last year.
