The Baltimore Ravens announced Friday that they’ve placed P Sean Smith on waivers.

Jeff Zrebiec notes that Ravens HC John Harbaugh had mentioned that they could rotate an extra kicker and punter on their roster, which means they could end up signing a kicker next.
Smith wound up going undrafted out of Dayton back in May. He attended the Ravens rookie minicamp soon after, but it took until last week for him to sign with Baltimore.
As a senior, Smith had 30 punts for a 45.4 average. He placed 18 of his 30 attempts inside the 20-yard line with only one touchback. He also had a school-record career punting average of 42.5.
