Redskins Cut Five Players Including S Montae Nicholson

The Washington Redskins announced that they’ve released five players on Monday including S Montae Nicholson.

Here’s the full list:

Nicholson, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2017. He was in the third year of his four-year, $3.01 million contract and set to make a base salary of $735,000 for the 2020 season.

In 2019, Nicholson appeared in 13 games for the Redskins and recorded 62 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and four passes defended. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 85 safety out of 90 qualifying players.

Sensabaugh, 31, is a former fourth-round pick of the Titans back in 2012. He wound up signing a three-year, $14 million contract that included $6.5 million guaranteed with the Rams back in 2016 but was cut loose during the season.

From there, Sensabaugh had brief stints with the Giants and Steelers before signing on with the Broncos in October of last year. He was eventually released and finished out the year with the Redskins.

In 2019, Sensabaugh appeared in six games for the Broncos and Redskins and recorded 11 tackles and no interceptions.
