Redskins Signing Veteran CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Ian Rapoport reports that the Redskins are signing CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to a contract.

JP Finlay reports that the Redskins are hosting free agent CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for a visit on Friday.

Rodgers-Cromartie was recently reinstated by the NFL after surprisingly retiring last season. Ian Rapoport said he wants to play in 2019 and is likely to draw some interest from NFL teams.

The Redskins actually showed in Rodgers-Cromartie but he eventually signed on with the Raiders

Rodgers-Cromartie, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2008. He played for the Eagles, Broncos, Giants and before signing on with the Raiders back in August.

In 2018, Rodgers-Cromartie appeared in seven games for the Raiders and recorded eight tackles, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.

For his career, Rodgers-Cromartie has recorded 449 tackles, 30 interceptions, 146 pass defenses, seven forced fumbles, two recoveries, 2.5 sacks and seven defensive touchdowns. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection.
