Redskins LB Ja’Gared Davis Off Chiefs’ Practice Squad, Cut Three Players

The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday that they signed LB Ja’Gared Davis off of the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad and waived LB Steve Beauharnais, LB Everette Brown and CB Greg Ducre.

  • Washington signed LB Trevardo Williams to their practice squad.
  • The Redskins also signed RB Michael Hill and LB Justin Jackson to their practice squad.

Davis, 24, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of SMU last year. He was among their final roster cuts and was later claimed off of waivers by the Patriots. He signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad in recent weeks.

This season, Davis has appeared in three games and recorded a single tackle.

Beauharnais, 24, was taken in the seventh round of last year’s NFL draft by the New England Patriots. However, Beauharnais was unable to make the team coming out of the preseason and later signed on to the Redskins’ practice squad.

Last year, he appeared in two games and recorded a single tackle for the Patriots.

Brown, 27, was taken with No. 43 overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, but lasted just two season before being released. He signed with the Cowboys in October of last season in order to add some much needed depth at defensive line.

Washington signed him a contract back in July, but he was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. However, they brought him back after the were forced to place OLB Brian Orakpo on season-ending injured reserve.

Last year, Brown produced 10 tackles and a forced fumble over the course of seven games with the Cowboys.
