Redskins Place LT Trent Williams On Injured Reserve

Redskins HC Jay Gruden announced Friday that they’re placing LT Trent Williams on injured reserve, per JP Finlay.

All indications have been that Williams was done for the year, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.

It’s possible Williams could undergo knee surgery in the coming weeks, so that’s something worth keeping an eye on next summer.

Williams, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Redskins back in 2010. He currently in the third year of his five-year, $66 million contract that includes $43.25 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $10 million and $11 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Williams appeared in 10 games for the Redskins and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 10 offensive tackle out of 85 qualifying players.
