Redskins Sign DL Caleb Brantley, Waive DL Anthony Lanier

According to John Keim, the Redskins have signed DT Caleb Brantley to a contract and waived DL Anthony Lanier.

Keim adds that QB Nic Shimonek was also seen at Monday’s practice, so he could be a potential addition.

Brantley, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2017. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.57 million contract and set to make a base salary of $555,000 for the 2018 season when the Browns cut him loose on Saturday.

In 2017, Brantley appeared in 12 games for the Browns and recorded 18 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
