Redskins Sign DL JoJo Wicker, Waive DB Darius Hillary

The Washington Redskins announced Saturday that they’ve signed DL JoJo Wicker to a contract and waived DB Darius Hillary.

Wicker, 22, wound up signing on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.71 million contract that includes a $480,000 base salary for the 2018 season.

The Lions waived Wicker a few days ago.

During his three-year college career at ASU, Wicker recorded 102 tackles, 32 tackles for a loss, 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two recoveries and four pass defenses over the course of three seasons and 36 games.

Hillary, 25, originally signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in 2016. He bounced on and off their practice squad before signing with the Browns’ taxi squad.

Hillary later caught on with the Raiders near the end of the 2017 season and was re-signed to a futures contract this past January. However, Oakland cut him loose following this year’s draft.

The Redskins recently signed Hillary to a contract.

In 2017, Hillary appeared in one game for the Raiders but did not record any statistics.
