Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that the Redskins have signed S Josh Evans to a contract on Wednesday following the news that the team has placed S David Bruton on injured reserve with a concussion.
Evans was clearly on the Redskins’ radar, as he worked out for the team just last week.
Evans, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.289 million contract and set to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season when the Jaguars elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
In 2015, Evans appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and recorded 53 tackles, a forced fumble, two recoveries and two pass defenses.
