The Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they’ve signed WR Tre McBride to a futures contract for the 2019 season.
As of now, the Redskins have signed 7 players to futures deals including:
- WR Carlos Henderson
- T Roubbens Joseph
- WR ArDarius Stewart
- RB Elijah Wellman
- DT JoJo Wicker
- C Casey Dunn
- WRย Tre McBride
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
McBride, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Titans back in 2015.ย He spent over two years in Tennessee before he was waived at the start of the 2017 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Bears.
McBride lasted a few months in Chicago before finishing out the year with the Jets and returning to New York on a futures contract last year. The Jets cut him loose coming out of the preseason and he sat out the entire year.
In 2017, McBride appeared in eight games and caught eight passes for 144 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
