Browns Still Undecided About Their Starting QB For Week 8

Update:

Nate Ulrich reports that a Browns spokesman told reporters that HC Rob Chudzinksi has yet to make a decision regarding who will be their starting quarterback in Week 8.

Previous reports indicated that Cleveland was going to give Brandon Weeden another shot, but apparently that could change in the coming days.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Browns will QB Brandon Weeden against the Chiefs next weekend.

La Canfora adds that Cleveland did consider making a change at quarterback, but he wouldn’t be surprised to see Jason Campbell get a shot at some point in the near future.

HC Rob Chudzinksi told reporters following Sunday’s loss that they are considering possible changes “at all positions.

Chudzinksi added that “we’ll basically put the guys at all positions who give us the best opportunity to win.”

Weeden struggled mightily against the Packers, accumulating a quarterback rating of just 48.6. He was consistently overthrowing receivers and the Packers showed no fear of him making a play down field as all. It’s become more than apparent that Weeden is not their long-term solution at quarterback and it’s probably just a matter of time before Campbell is under center.
