Howard Balzer reports that the Cleveland Browns held a tryout for veteran CB Aaron Berry.
Berry, 25, visited with the Browns back in March as well, so he has been on their radar. ย He was unfortunately placed on season-ending injured reserve after he suffered a torn ACL back in July of last year.
Before that, he spent his first two years in the league with the Lions. ย He appeared in 11 games for Detroit in 2012 and posted 31 tackles and a 11 pass defenses.
Cleveland does have a good deal of talent at the cornerback position, boasting Joe Haden, Justin Gilbert, Buster Skrine and recent draft pick Pierre Desir. ย Berry would thus presumably fit as a special teams contributor.
He could be a good value addition for some team, depending on his knee holds up next year.
