Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Colts have released veteran CÂ Samson Satele on Thursday.
Satele, 29, has been rumored to be on the chopping block for a few months now, so this doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
He still had one year remaining on his three-year, $10.8 million contract that included $4 million guaranteed. The Colts owed him $3.9 million for the 2014 season, but will now free up about $3.5 million in cap space, according to OverTheCap.com.
Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 31 center in the league last season, which was due to his struggles in run-blocking.
