SportsRadio 610 in Houston is reporting that the Falcons are not interested in trading up to No. 1 overall, despite numerous that have mentioned that this could be an option.
According to the report, Atlanta is still willing to move up their player, but they apparently do not believe he is worth moving up to No. 1.
Interestingly enough, the report adds that the Falcons’ player is not South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sportsย mentioned earlier in the day we shouldn’t rule out the possibility of the Falcons trading up for an offensive tackle in this year’s draft.
- La Canfora is “hearing” that the Falcons are concerned that the top-three offensive tackles all could be gone by the time they are on the clock at No. 6 overall.
- The Falcons would most likely have to trade up ahead of the Rams to secure Auburn OTย Greg Robinson, according to La Canfora.
There is no question that Robinson,ย Jake Matthewsย andย Taylor Lewanย could all come off the board in the top-ten, but it would be somewhat surprising to see Atlanta trade up for an offensive tackle given that they do have a number of needs to address.
