Report: Rams Reach Out To Brett Favre

ESPN’sย Adam Schefterย reported earlier this morning that the St. Louis Rams have reached out to veteran QB Brett Favre about returning to the NFL.

Despite the Rams’ interest, Favre reportedly declined the Rams offer earlier this week and told them thatย he is retired.

“It’s flattering, but you know there’s no way I’m going to do that,” Favre said, via ESPN.com.ย “...I’m like a yardstick, I’m so stiff,” he said. “So I’m just trying to … not stay in shape to play, but stay in shape to do everyday things, not only with my daughter and my wife and my grandson, but really just for me.”

The Rams are withoutย Sam Bradford for the remainder of the 2013 season and has since added QBs Brady Quinn and Austin Davis to their roster. Kellen Clemens will be their starting quarterback this week against the Seattle Seahawks, but this report is an obvious indication that they are not content with their current options.

Favre hasn’t played since 2010 and at 44-years-old, it’s doubtful he has much left in the tank. It looks like it’s going to be a long second-half for the Rams.
