Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that the Redskins have signed rookie DE Jeremy Towns to a contract.
- Towns will take WR Jerry Rice Jr’s roster spot after Washington waive/injured him earlier in the day.
Towns is an undrafted free agent out of Samford. During his senior season, Towns appeared in 11 games and finished the year with 21 tackles, one sack, two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and a blocked kick.
