Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that despite a long courtship from the Raiders, contract talks with free agent TE Jermaine Gresham “are dead for now.”
Previous reports had said that it would be surprising if the the Raiders didn’t have a deal in place with Gresham at some point in the near future.
However, there hasn’t been much in terms of reported progress in the past few days.
The Browns could be a team to watch in regards to Gresham, seeing as they’ve already lost TE Jordan Cameron to the Dolphins and they could also miss out on Charles Clay.
Gresham, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2010, but he never managed to live up to his draft status during his time with the team.
In 2014, Gresham caught 62 passes for 460 yards receiving and five touchdowns over the course of 15 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 37 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.
We have Gresham listed as the No. 58 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
