Report: Texas A&M OT Cedric Ogbuehi Suffers Torn ACL

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports is reporting that Texas A&M OT Cedric Ogbuehi sustained a torn ACL during their win over West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl.

According to Getlin, Ogbuehi is expected to undergo surgery on injured knee at some point in the near future, but he is expected to be ready in time for training camp.

Matt Miller of the Bleacher Report points out that injuries at this point in the year can result in “sizeable” hits to a player’s draft stock.

Miller mentions that Ogbuehi was considered a first-round talent before the injury, but this news could push him back to round 3 or 4 with his new team redshirting him in 2015.

For what it’s worth, ESPN’s Scouts Inc has Ogbuehi rated as the No. 13 player in this year’s draft class, so there is no question that this is very disappointing news for the young man.

It will be interesting to see how far he could fall following the knee injury.
