Jim Wyatt of the Tennesseanย reports that the Titans are releasing veteran Kย Rob Bironasย on Wednesday.
- Wyatt adds that the Titans want to get younger at the position while creating more competition.
- According to Wyatt, Maikon Bonani will among kickers in the mix for the job.
Bironas, 36, has spent all nine years of his NFL career with the Titans. He had one year remaining on hisย two-year, $6.675 million contract that included $1.8 million guaranteed.
However, his cap figure for the 2014 season wasย $3.875 million and the Titans will now free up $3.125 million in cap space, according to OverTheCap.com.
