Update: Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets and Revis “have no plans” to announce a contract this week. Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger added that she has confirmed that Cowlishaw’s report is not true.
Cowlishaw followed up his previous tweet with, “I was told they will announce it this week, not [definitely] Wednesday but probably Wednesday. This person has never been wrong.”
There it’s defiantly a possibility that Cowlishaw’s twitter account had been hacked but as of right now he’s sticking to his story.
Tom Cowlishaw of the Dallas Morning News tweets that “Revis and Jets announce new deal, probably Wednesday. You heard it here first. “Inside information!”
If this is accurate, the news would come as a bit of a surprise since the most recent report on Darrelle Revis‘s holdout, mentioned that things were awkwardly quiet between the two parties. I’m certain that this news will generate plenty of reports in the coming days, so we’ll be sure to have updates as they become available.
