Saints Activating DL Sheldon Rankins From PUP List

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Saints are expected to activate DL Sheldon Rankins from the PUP list. 

Rankins is working his way back from an Achilles tear he suffered during the playoffs las year. 

Rankins, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2016. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $12.8 million contract when the Saints picked up his fifth-year option this past April.

Rankins will make a base salary of $2.19 million for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Rankins appeared in all 16 games for the Saints and recorded 40 tackles, eight sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defense.
