Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Saints have exercised their 2021 fifth-year options on CB Marshon Lattimore and OT Ryan Ramczyk.
Fifth-year options are guaranteed for injury only right now and won’t become fully guaranteed until the start of the 2021 league year.
Both were easy calls for New Orleans and it would not be surprising to hear talk of potential extensions for Lattimore and Ramczyk over the next year or so.
Lattimore, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2017. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $15.35 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.53 million for the 2020 season.
In 2019, Lattimore appeared in 14 games for the Saints and recorded 57 tackles, one interception and 14 passes defended. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 50 cornerback out of 115 qualifying players.
Ramczyk, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2017. He’s entering the final year of his four-year, $8.891 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,677,485 for the 2020 season.
In 2019, Ramczyk appeared in all 16 games for the Saints, making 16 starts at right tackle. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 1 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
