Saints Expected To Sign Drew Iddings, Convert Him To Guard

Herbie Teope reports that the Saints are expected to sign Drew Iddings to a contract on Monday.

Teope adds that while Iddings previously played and even tried out for New Orleans as a defensive end, the Saints plan to convert him to guard.

Iddings, 24, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota back in May of last year. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason as the Raiders cut their roster down to 53 players.

Oakland did not add him to their practice squad and he sat out the entire 2016 season.

During his four-year college career, Iddings recorded 149 tackles, 32 tackles for a loss, five pass defenses, four forced fumbles, two recoveries, and eight sacks over the course of 46 games.
