The New Orleans Saints have officially activated QB Drew Brees from injured reserve on Saturday and placed WR Michael Thomas and WR Deonte Harris on the list.
The Saints also waived TE Garrett Griffin and QB Trevor Siemian and promoted G Will Clapp, WR Juwan Johnson, WR Tommylee Lewis and WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey to their active roster.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Brees, 41, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2001. After five years with the Chargers, Brees signed on with the Saints as a free agent in 2006.
Brees has spent the past 12 seasons in New Orleans. He agreed to a new two-year, $50 million contract with the Saints this past March.
In 2020, Brees has appeared in nine games for the Saints and completed 73.5 percent of his passes for 2,196 yards, 18 touchdowns and three interceptions.
