The New Orleans Saints placed rookie DE Carl Granderson on the reserve/did not report list on Thursday and WR Emmanuel Butler on the non-football injury list, according to Herbie Teope.
Granderson is currently serving a six-month jail sentence in Wyoming after pleading no contest last week in a sexual battery case.
Granderson changed his plea to no contest on charges of sexual battery and unlawful contact this morning. He was given a one-year jail sentence that will be suspended with one-year supervised probation.
The probation period will begin after Granderson serves six months in jail.
Granderson, 22, wound up going undrafted out of Wyoming back in April. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Saints.
During his college career at Wyoming, Granderson recorded 173 tackles, 16.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, a recovery, two defensive touchdowns, three pass defenses and three interceptions over the course of four seasons and 42 games.
Butler, 22, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Arizona back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract.
During his college career at Northern Arizona, Butler caught 187 passes for 3,222 yards receiving and 33 touchdowns over the course of five seasons and 45 games.
