Nick Underhill reports that the Saints are placing Sย Erik Harris on injured reserve Thursday after he sustained a torn ACL during Monday’s practice. Harris has already undergone surgery to repair the ligaments.
- Underhill expects the Saints to promote DB Brian Dixon to their active roster in the coming days.
- As for the practice squad, Underhill expects the Saints to signย LB Chris McCain.
This move will, obviously, end Harris’ 2016 season.
Harris, 26, signed on with the Saints back in February. He’s currently in the first year of his three-year, $1,620,000 contract and set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2016, Harris appeared in four games for the Saints and recorded one tackle.
