Barrett, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Ohio State back in May before signing a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Saints. New Orleans elected to waive Barrett as they cut their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason and theyย later added him to their practice squad.
Barrett has been on and off of the Saints’ practice squad ever since.
During his four years at OSU, Barrett threw for 9,434 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes to go along with 104 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He also rushed for 3,263 yards and 43 touchdowns.
Carter, 25, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Grambling State back in May. He signed a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Redskins and stands to make a base salary of $485,000 for the 2018 season.
The Redskins waived Carter with an injury designation last Saturday and he later reverted to their injured reserve list. Washington waived him with an injury settlement back in August and he just recently signed on to the Saints’ practice squad.
During his four-year college career at Grambling State, Carter rushed for 2,628 yards on 396 carries (6.6 YPC) to go along with 74 receptions for 961 yards receiving and 38 total touchdowns over the course of 48 games.
