According to Adam Schefter, the Saints and RT Ryan Ramczyk have agreed to terms on a five-year, $96 million extension.
That’s on top of the fifth-year option Ramczyk is set to play on in 2021, putting him under team control for six seasons in total.
Per Schefter, the deal includes a total of $60 million guaranteed. At $19.2 million per year in AAV, it makes Ramczyk the league’s highest-paid right tackle, and deservedly so.
There’s also a strong chance the deal lowers Ramczyk’s cap hit for 2021, freeing up a little more wiggle room for the Saints to make moves.
Ramczyk, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2017. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $8.891 million contract when the Saints exercised his fifth-year option for 2021.
Ramcyzk was set to make $11.064 million for the 2021 season on the fifth-year option.
In 2020, Ramczyk appeared in all 16 games for the Saints, making 16 starts at right tackle. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 offensive tackle out of 79 qualifying players.
