Saints Sign Veteran DE George Johnson, Waive OT Bryce Harris

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Saints have signed veteran DE George Johnson to a contract on Tuesday and waived OT Bryce Harris.

Johnson, 30, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers back in 2010. After a brief stint with the Vikings, the Lions signed Johnson to a contract back in April of 2014.

Detroit later traded him to the Buccaneers in return for a 2015 fifth-round pick that ultimately became Michael Burton. However, Tampa Bay elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason and he later signed on with the Lions.

Unfortunately, the Lions waived him a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Johnson has appeared in four games for the Lions and recorded two tackles and no sacks.
