Saints Signing TE Jake Stoneburner To Practice Squad

The New Orleans Saints are signing TE Jake Stoneburner to the practice squad, according to Joel A. Erickson.

The Saints will need to make a corresponding roster move, as their practice squad is currently full.

Stoneburner, 26, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State back in 2013. He lasted just over a year in Green Bay before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season.

The Dolphins later signed him to their practice squad and brought him back on a future/reserve contract last year. Stoneburner once again returned to the team in 2016, this time on an exclusive rights deal. However, the Dolphins cut him loose in July

However, the Dolphins cut him loose in July and he signed on with the Rams a month later. Unfortunately, the Rams released him as they began trimming their roster down.

In 2015, Stoneburner appeared in 11 games for the Dolphins, catching five passes for 47 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
