Nick Underhill reports that the Saints are signing WR Simmie Cobbs off of the Redskins’ practice squad on Friday.
Cobbs, 23, wound up signing on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Indiana back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with Washington, but was released coming out of the preseason.
The Redskins later signed Cobbs to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.
During his three years at Indiana, Cobbs caught 139 passes for 1,990 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns over the course of 30 games.
