According to Nick Underhill, the Saints have waived veteran OL Jermon Bushrod from their active roster and signed QB J.T. Barrett to their practice squad.
The Saints’ practice squad now consists of:
- LB Vince Biegel
- TE Garrett Griffin
- DT Woodrow Hamilton
- DE Alex Jenkins (International)
- WR Keith Kirkwood
- OT Rick Leonard
- RB Dwayne Washington
- OL Nate Wozniak
- TE Deon Yelder
- RB Boston Scott
- QB J.T. Barrett
Bushrod, 33, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2007. He spent six years in New Orleans before he departed in free agency for a five-year, $35.965 million contractย that includedย $22.465 million guaranteed with the Bears. Unfortunately, Bushrod lasted just three seasons in Chicago before he was released in 2016.
The Dolphins signed him to a one-year contract two years ago and brought him on another one-year deal for the 2017 season. New Orleans signed him back in March, making his stint with the team short-lived.
In 2017, Bushrod appeared in 10 games for the Dolphins and Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 62 overall guard out of 77 qualifying players.
