The New Orleans Saints waived WR Paul Turner on Thursday andย officially signedย RB Terrance West.
Turner, 25, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Louisiana Tech back in May of last year. He was on and off of the Eagles’ practice squad during the 2016 season.
Turner was once again cut loose coming out of the preseason last year and later waived from injured reserve with a settlement. The Saints signed him to a futures contract this past January.
During his college career, Turner caught 87 passes for 1,171 yards receiving and seven touchdowns for Louisana Tech over the course of 23 games.
West, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Browns back in 2014. He spent just one year in Cleveland before he was traded to the Titans in 2015 for a conditional seventh-round pick.
The Titans cut him loose a few weeks into the 2015 season and West later signed on with the Ravens. Baltimore brought West back on a one-year restricted deal last year.
In 2017, West appeared in five games for the Ravens and rushed for 138 yards on 39 carries (3.5 YPC) and two touchdowns to go along with two receptions for 23 yards receiving.
