Seahawks Activate TE Ed Dickson, Waive TE Tyrone Swoopes

The Seattle Seahawks are officially activating TE Ed Dickson from their non-football injury list on Saturday and waived TE Tyrone Swoopes.

Earlier this week, Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said he “anticipates” Dickson to play in Week 8, so this move was expected to occur. (Bob Condotta)

Dickson, 31, is a former third-round pick by the Ravens out of Oregon in the 2010 NFL Draft. He is entering the first year of a three-year, $10.7 million contract and is set to earn a $1 million base salary this season.

After finishing his three-year rookie contract, Baltimore re-signed him to a one-year deal as a restricted free agent.

He signed with the Panthers to a three-year deal in 2015 and finished out his contract with the team. Dickson signed with Seattle back in March.

In 2017, Dickson appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 30 receptions for 437 yards receiving (14.6 YPC) and scored one touchdown.
