Seahawks Place DT Tavaris Barnes On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Seattle Seahawks officially placed DT Tavaris Barnes on injured reserve after they cleared waivers on Wednesday.

Barnes, 24, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in May of last year. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season.

Barnes was in the second year of his three-year, $1.582 million rookie contract when he was waived just days before this year’s draft. The Seahawks signed him to a contract just a few days later before waiving him with an injury designation on Tuesday.

In 2015, Barnes appeared in 12 games for the Saints and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
