Seahawks Place Low-Round Tender On RFA DL Quinton Jefferson

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks have placed an original-round tender on RFA DL Quinton Jefferson.

The original-round tender will cost the Seahawks $2.025 million for the 2019 season.

Should a team sign Jefferson to a contract and the Seahawk decline to match the offer, Seattle would recoup a fifth-round pick for him.

Jefferson, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason last year and later claimed off of waivers by the Rams.

The Rams cut Jefferson loose soon after before resigning him to their practice squad. The Seahawks wound later add Jefferson to their active roster and brought him back last year on an exclusive rights contract.

In 2018, Jefferson appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and recorded 25 tackles, three sacks, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses.
