Seahawks Release Veteran RT Eric Winston

 

Pro Football Talk reports that the Seahawks have released veteran RT Eric Winston as they work to get their roster down to 53 players.

The Seahawks paid Winston a $60,000 signing bonus, but he had a $100,000 roster bonus for Week 1, according to Brian McIntyre.

Winston, 30, signed on with the Seahawks back in late July after finding very little interest as a free agent. He accepted the position as the NFLPA president, which some have mentioned could have been the reason for the lack of interest.

Last year, Winston appeared in all 16 games for Arizona, but graded out as the No. 69 tackle in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
