On Friday, Seahawks HC Pete Carroll announced that special teams coordinator Brian Schneider has left the team indefinitely for personal reasons.
The Seahawks will have assistant special teams coach Larry Izzo take over for now as special teams coordinator.
Schneider has been the Seahawks’ special teams coordinator since the 2010 season after he chose to leave USC to join Carroll’s coaching staff.
Football Outsiders had the Seahawks’ special teams unit rated No. 20 in the league.
