Seahawks Waive Rookie LS Nate Boyer

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the Seahawks are placing undrafted rookie LS Nate Boyer on waivers Tuesday.

Glazer mentions that Seattle needed a roster spot, and a backup long snapper is clearly at the top of the list when it comes to expendable players.

Seattle is in need of a backup quarterback following the injury to Tarvaris Jackson, so it would not be surprising to hear that they signed someone later in the day.

Boyer, 34, is a former United States Army Green Beret who wound up going undrafted out of Texas. The Seahawks gave him an opportunity to compete for a job in training camp and appear in their first preseason game.

Boyer is a great story and hopefully he gets another opportunity in the NFL.
