According to Ian Rapoport, Seahawks WR David Moore has agreed to a pay cut in order to keep his roster spot.
Moore re-signed this offseason as a restricted free agent on the low tender worth $2.13 million, but will likely lower his salary closer to the minimum.
Seattle’s made a number of roster additions at receiver this offseason, so Moore’s spot on the roster was tenuous. While a pay cut isn’t ideal, it at least keeps him on the team.
Moore, 25, is a former seventh-round pick out of East Central by the Seahawks in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.48 million rookie contract but was waived as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit but signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.
Moore was promoted to their active roster later in 2017 and returned to Seattle on a one-year deal as an exclusive rights free-agent last offseason. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
In 2019, Moore appeared in 14 games for the Seahawks and recorded 17 receptions for 301 yards receiving (17.7 YPC) and two touchdowns to go along with three rushing attempts for 25 yards and 75 punt return yards.
