The Pittsburgh Steelers announcedย Tuesday that they’ve signed six players to contracts.
The list of players signed includes:
- LB Akil Blount
- LB Jason Fanaika
- OL Kyle Friend
- CB Devonte Johnson
- OL Mike Matthews
- RB Trey Williams
Johnson, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Weber State back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Falcons’ practice squad.
However, he lasted just a few weeks on the unit before the Falcons cut him loose.
During his college career, Johnson recorded 76 tackles and 14 pass defenses over the course of 21 games.
Friend, 22, signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in May of last year. New York elected to waive him as they trimmed their roster down to 75 players during the preseason
Friend was on and off of the Jets’ practice squad this during the season.
Friend has yet to appear in an NFL game.
