More Talk That Steelers Are Team To Watch For CB Dre Kirkpatrick

According to Jason Cole of B/R, there’s “a lot of chatter” connecting Bengals free agent CB Dre Kirkpatrick to the Steelers.

Last week,ย Ian Rapoport of NFL Mediaย reported that an intriguing market is developing for Kirkpatrick that includes the Steelers and Titans.

Indications are that Kirkpatrick will likely depart and be playing for another team in 2017.

Kirkpatrick, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $8.622 million rookie contract, but Cincinnati picked up his fifth-year option that paid him $7.507 million for the 2016 season.

Kirkpatrick is now in position to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016,ย Kirkpatrick appeared in 15 games for the Bengals and recorded 46 tackles, three interceptions and 10 pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. receiver out of qualifying players.

We have him featured in ourย Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
