Teams Calling Bears About Veteran G Josh Sitton

Ian Rapoport reports that NFL teams have been calling the Bears about the availability of veteran Gย Josh Sitton ahead of the trade deadline.

It certainly can’t hurt to see if the Bears are willing to move a solid interior offensive lineman, but he’s under contract for next year, so I’m sure they have no plans to give him away.

Sitton, 31, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2008. He played eight years for the Packers before they released at the start of last year.

Sitton later signed a three-year, $21.75 million contract that included $10 million with the Bears. He stands to make base salaries of $4.65 million and $7.4 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Sitton has appeared in seven games for the Bears and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 9ย  guard out of 78 qualifying players.
