Texans Sign RB Chris Polk To A One-Year Deal Worth Up To $760K

Mark Berman of Fox 26 reports that the Texans have agreed to terms with former Eagles RB Chris Polk on Tuesday.

  • According to John McClain, Polk receives a one-year contract from the Texans worth $660,000.
  • Polk’s contract includes $100,000 in per-game active roster bonuses.

Recent reports had said that Polk had interest from as many as five teams since he became available.

Last week, the Eagles elected to rescind the restricted free agent tender they extended to Polk a few months ago, which allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent.

Polk, 25, signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in 2012.

In 2014, Polk ran for 172 yards on 46 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 16 yards and four touchdowns over the course of 14 games. Pro Football Focus has him down for playing 97 snaps last season to go along with a positive rating overall.
